These terms apply to readings booked with Lavinia through lavinia.ws or directly with us. Please read them before confirming a booking.
1. About Lavinia
Lavinia is owned by Lavinia Lunt. Our correspondence address is 5 Cheddar Grove, Burtonwood, Warrington, Cheshire WA5 4PB, United Kingdom.
For enquiries, cancellations or complaints, email lavinia@lavinia.ws or call +44 (0)7985 157112.
2. What a reading provides
We provide psychic and mediumship readings in the format and for the duration agreed at booking. Available options include private in-person readings in Burtonwood, Warrington, Zoom readings, readings for two, group bookings and email readings, subject to availability.
Readings involve personal and spiritual interpretation. Particular messages, contact with a particular person, predictions or outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Payment is for the agreed time or service, provided with reasonable care and skill. This does not remove your rights if the service is not supplied as agreed.
A reading is not medical or mental-health treatment, counselling, legal advice or financial advice. It is not a substitute for advice from a suitably qualified professional. You remain responsible for decisions about your life.
3. Arranging and confirming a booking
Sending an enquiry or reading-request form does not confirm an appointment. The service, duration, format, date, time, price and payment arrangements must be agreed with Lavinia. Please check the confirmation and tell us promptly about errors. Do not assume that making an unallocated payment reserves a particular time.
For Zoom readings, check the appointment time zone and joining details. For email readings, agree the scope and expected delivery date. Group size, location, price and any travel costs must be agreed before you commit.
4. Prices and payment
The price and any mandatory charges will be stated before you book. Current services and payment options are shown on the booking page and payments page. The price agreed for a confirmed booking will not change without your agreement.
Where a deposit is required, its amount and the remaining balance and due date will be made clear before payment. The deposit options currently listed are £10 for an individual reading, £20 for a two-person reading and £40 for a group booking. Confirm which applies to your booking with Lavinia.
Online card payments are processed through Stripe. Enter card details only in the payment form; do not email them or include them in booking messages. Keep your booking confirmation and payment receipt.
5. Cancellations, no-shows and deposits
If you cancel a reading or do not attend, the deposit is normally non-refundable. Lavinia may choose to refund it or waive retention at her discretion.
This policy is subject to your statutory rights and the requirement that any amount retained is fair and proportionate to the loss caused by your cancellation or non-attendance, taking account of costs saved and any replacement booking. Any excess will be refunded. Where you have a legal right to a refund, it is not discretionary.
To cancel, email lavinia@lavinia.ws or call +44 (0)7985 157112 as soon as possible. Include your name, appointment date and booking reference if available. An email gives you a written record.
6. Rescheduling
A reading may be rescheduled a maximum of two times, subject to availability and agreement of the replacement date with Lavinia. Contact us before the appointment to request a change. A replacement date is not confirmed until agreed.
Changes made necessary by Lavinia do not count towards this limit. If you cannot attend after two agreed changes, the cancellation policy above applies. The limit does not restrict your statutory rights.
If Lavinia cancels or cannot provide the agreed service, you may choose an available replacement appointment or a refund for the service not supplied. You do not have to accept credit instead of a refund.
7. Statutory cancellation rights
Where the law gives you a cooling-off right for a service booked online, by email or by telephone, you can cancel within 14 days after the contract is made. Statutory exceptions may apply to some services, including certain leisure services booked for a specified date or period. These terms do not automatically classify every reading as exempt or remove any cancellation right you have.
To exercise an applicable cancellation right, tell us clearly before the period expires. You do not need to give a reason or use a particular form. You may use this wording: “I cancel my booking for [service], agreed on [date], scheduled for [date]. My name is [name], my address is [address], and today’s date is [date].” Send it to our email or correspondence address above. A signature is needed only if you choose to send a paper notice.
If you want a service to start within an applicable cooling-off period, we must obtain your express request. If you cancel after it starts, a proportionate charge for work already supplied may be payable only where the legal requirements have been met. You lose the right to cancel a fully performed service only where the required request and acknowledgement have been obtained. Accepting these terms alone does not replace those steps.
Refunds required under statutory cancellation rules will be made within the applicable legal deadline, normally within 14 days of being told of your cancellation, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee.
8. Attending your reading
Please attend on time and provide accurate contact details. If you will be late, contact us promptly so we can discuss whether the session can proceed or needs to be rearranged under the policy above.
For Zoom readings, use a suitable device, internet connection and a quiet, private setting. Tell us promptly if a technical problem prevents the session so we can agree how it can be completed or rearranged. Your rights remain unchanged where a problem is our responsibility.
Please treat everyone respectfully. A session may be paused or ended if behaviour is threatening or abusive. Any financial consequences must be fair, proportionate and consistent with your legal rights.
9. Privacy and recording
No session notes are kept. Booking records are retained only for accounting purposes. Personal information is handled as explained in the Privacy Policy.
A reading is recorded only if you request it, solely to provide a record for you. The recording and the email address collected to send you a copy are retained for two years from the reading and then deleted. That delivery address is used solely to send your recording, not for marketing.
Recording is optional. Where sensitive personal information will be recorded, explicit consent is required before recording begins. For a group reading, all participants must agree before they are recorded. Please do not share a recording containing another person’s private information without their permission.
10. Testimonials
Submitting a testimonial is optional and is not a condition of receiving a reading. Submit your own experience and use a name you are comfortable displaying publicly. Do not include private information about others.
We may decline abusive or unlawful material or information that breaches someone’s privacy. We will not invent an endorsement or materially change its meaning. Contact us if you want your published testimonial removed.
11. Problems, refunds and responsibility
If something is wrong, contact lavinia@lavinia.ws with your booking details and the issue. We will consider your concern and discuss an appropriate remedy.
Services must be performed with reasonable care and skill and match what was agreed. Where the law provides for repeat performance or a price reduction, including a refund where appropriate, those rights remain available. The absence of a guaranteed spiritual outcome does not excuse a failure to provide the agreed service properly.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing limits your mandatory consumer rights.
12. Changes and applicable law
The terms supplied when your booking is agreed apply to that booking. Changes to future terms do not retrospectively remove your rights.
English and Welsh law applies. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and rights to use the courts available to them under applicable law, including relevant rights in their country of residence.
